We will be holding an induction day on Thursday 16th September 9.30 am to 2.30 pm when will give further details of the course.

The recent volume of applications has been extremely high so no further applications will be accepted after 31st August. We have been very pleased with the level of interest and with the support of the training providers across the County in helping promote this grant to small businesses in Hampshire. The feedback has been very positive and we are delighted to have been able to support nearly 100 apprentices with this funding

In challenging times, many providers are finding it difficult to expand their provision and there is a real need to focus on employer engagement, co-investment and full cost recovery work to complement traditional funding. The event has been designed by providers within the region who are sharing their leading practice and areas of success with the aim of providing delegates with ideas and processes that could complement their existing practice. ]]> Consultation on Simplifying the FE funding system tag:alpse.co.uk,2010:index.php/4.1157 2010-08-19T12:36:56Z 2010-08-19T12:37:57Z Nicky Curnow ncurnow@btopenworld.com You will be aware of the discussions taking place around the simplification of the FE funding model and within that the issues of setting Minimum Contract Levels.  Of the 118 providers contracting with the Skills Funding Agency in the South East a significant proportion would be directly affected by these changes. BIS have a consultation document that discusses the various options at:

It asks for specific feedback on the various scenarios.  The response date is 14 October 2010.

The procurement exercise will target 14-19 year olds and aims to purchase the delivery of activities that will support young people who are currently not in Education, Employment and Training (NEET) into EET, and reduce the likelihood of young people becoming NEET. This briefing is not a formal part of the procurement process. It is important that those organisations potentially interested in tendering to provide ESF funded programmes to support NEET in 2011 are aware of the content and timetable.

We have managed to organise a support session, funded by the Functional Skills Support Programme, for practitioners who will be delivering functional skills from September. This is open to anyone who feels they could benefit from training on strategies for delivering functional skills, information on assessment requirements that may differ from key skills and skills for life, and an opportunity to ask questions about what different approaches functional skills may ask of learners.
